We are a serving community with strong mission programs that make a real impact among the aged, the mentally ill, the homeless and children. Many of our members are individually involved in mission programs, effectively multiplying our corporate contributions through National Capital Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church (USA). Community Club, a one-on-one tutoring program for District of Columbia students, has continued at NYAPC for nearly 40 years. Meals-on-Wheels provides hot meals to homebound persons and is in its third decade of service. The McClendon Center operates daily on the fifth floor of the church (Peter Marshall Hall) to provide socialization programs of food and activity for DC residents with special needs. Through the "7-2-9" program every Wednesday evening, volunteers provide hospitality and socializing services to patients of St. Elizabeth's Hospital and other mental health facilities. These are just a few of the programs supported by the members of NYAPC. Beyond the many programs, there are often additional opportunities for service at NYAPC.
