An inclusive, justice-seeking church

2018 Annual Stewardship Campaign

If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind….For it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.  Philippians 2:1-2, 13.

It is with joy and expectation for a promising future that we invite you to honor the mission and ministries of NYAPC by pledging to our 2018 Stewardship Campaign. Our hope is that 100% of our church community can participate. Indeed, every individual or family pledge allows us as a community to make better-informed decisions for NYAPC—decisions that not only impact our members, but also our local community and other faith communities, national and international, with whom we are in partnership.

In the passage above from Philippians 2, the Apostle Paul speaks of the concept of joy as a mindset and a virtue, the manifestation of God’s love and movement towards us, through us, and into the world. In considering your 2018 pledge, we invite you to reflect on the circumstances of the past year—whether personal, societal, or political, challenging or rewarding. Recall specifically those moments when you sensed being caught up in something larger than yourself—holy experiences of joy in which you stood with the vulnerable, the oppressed, all those longing to know God’s love and the fullness of life God intends for them.  Contemplate the ways in which NYAPC has facilitated this connection through its commitment to service and its participation in God’s mission in the world as an inclusive, justice-seeking church.

We request that you make or renew your commitment between October 8 and November 19, 2017. Commitment Sunday will be November 12, 2017. If you have not yet received a pledge card and would like one mailed to you, please email Jasmine Jowers, the Church Administrator, at You may return the card to the church via the offering plate, by sending it through the mail, or by emailing it to the church’s accountant, Lance Jameson, at

We ask that you give all that you can in joyful recognition of all that God has given us.

But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.  I Chronicles 29:14

With Peace and Gratitude,
