An inclusive, justice-seeking church

2017 Annual Stewardship Campaign

The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.  2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Greetings!

Our 2017 Annual Stewardship Campaign is underway!  It is the time of year when we, the Congregation, reaffirm our commitment to sustaining the work of the church in recognition and gratitude for all that God has done, and continues to do, to sustain us.

We firmly believe that 100% of our church family can respond to this endeavor, understanding that pledging consistently, as opposed to giving periodically, allows our dedicated committees and staff to make better decisions for NYAPC.  The consistency you provide when you pledge opens doors for our church and broadens our reach in the local community and beyond.

As the Apostle Paul reminds us, we give to the Church not out of duty or passive obligation, but as a reflection of our dynamic relationship with God and the recognition that all we have comes from God.  Indeed, the act of stewardship is an act of discipleship, an expression of our gratitude for God’s boundless generosity and our calling as Christians to live out our faith by serving others and enabling the church to do God’s work on earth.

If you have not yet received a pledge card and would like one mailed to you, please email Jasmine Jowers, the Church Administrator, at jasmine.jowers@nyapc.org.

Once you’ve filled out your card, you may place it in the offering plate during our upcoming Sunday services, or mail it back to the church.  Commitment Sunday is November 13, 2016.

When you consider whether and how much to pledge this year, we ask that you pray and think about how NYAPC’s active commitment to service and its mission as an inclusive, justice-seeking church reflects your faith and values.  Contemplate the ways NYAPC sustains you and allows us all to live out our faith, and then give not out of compulsion, but in cheerful recognition for all that God has given us.

For you will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us; for the rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God.  2 Corinthians 9:6-8

With Peace and Gratitude,

Rachel Browning & Kimberly Johnson, Stewardship Co-Chairs
